Later, as an associate at a+i design, Victoria managed a wide range of projects including art galleries, restaurants, and offices. In 2008, Victoria was awarded an Independent Projects Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, for her proposal FlyNY: A Kite Competition. FlyNY has engaged thousands of community children in a dialogue about design through the making and flying of kites. Because of the event’s success, Victoria continues to collaborate with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation to host the event annually. FlyNYC 2011 will be held on Pier I in Riverside Park on August 20th. See www.nycgovparks.org for information.
